Philadelphia’s Doug Hirlinger has come up with something new and novel:
A new online monthly music series featuring a different collective of composers and musicians every month and new compositions written or arranged for the occasion. The compositions will be rehearsed and recorded in a single session and posted on musiccreative.org.
I’ll be drawing from a large pool of talented acquaintances mostly from Philadelphia and New York.
I plan to present live follow-up performances in Philadelphia on a quarterly basis. The venue or venues are still to be determined. My hope is that this will be a valued tradition for musicians, composers, and listeners here in Philadelphia and elsewhere.
At the moment, monthly collectives will meet on either the first Wednesday or Friday of the month. The recordings will be posted for streaming as soon as possible.
