Just in from pianist Bruce Barth:
Guitarist and producer John Hall is putting his career on hold to run for Congress in New York’s 19th District, where he’ll try to unseat the incumbent Sue Kelly. Not only is Kelly a loyal Bushite, she serves my parents’ district, and what’s more, I once got stuck behind her pokey campaign bus for 20 minutes. Now payback is within reach.
John Hall co-founded the band Orleans, which gave us such ’70s hits as “Still the One” and “Dance with Me.” I remember both fondly from when I was about 10.
To help raise funds, Bruce Barth will perform with vocalist Karrin Allyson in Tribeca on May 22. More about this, and about Hall, at his campaign website.
